Creative arts is mandatory for students from Kindergarten to Year 6.
In creative arts, students discover a variety of art forms through a study of dance, drama, music and visual arts where they learn to appreciate, compose, listen, make and perform.
Each art form has its own unique knowledge and skills, elements or concepts as well as a capacity to inspire and enrich lives.
Music
Students in Years K-6 enjoy weekly class music lessons with a Specialist Music Teacher. Through engaging sequential units combining recognised music education approaches, students develop skills in singing, listening, moving, instrumental playing and music notation. Senior students are introduced to the use of technology in music.
Students participate regularly in whole school singing, Music Count Us In, assembly items and music incursions such as OzOpera & Musica Viva.
Students in Years 2-6 may require their own recorder (for hygiene reasons) which are available for around $12.
